AFRICA TENNIS CONNECT FOUNDATION

We use sport as a low simulator for change in places where language fails. On the court, young people can test new behaviors, build confidence, and practice equity in safe spaces that mirror society.

By reaching one million youth with girls at the center, Africa Tennis Connect is building pathways that extend beyond sport into education, health, leadership, and economic mobility.

Our aim is not only to grow athletes but to transform communities, align with the SDGs, and prove that play can rewire possibilities for an entire generation.

The Foundation At A Glance

Behavioral Barriers We’re Tackling

In many of the communities we serve, inequality isn’t always recognized as injustice. It is seen as tradition.

Restrictions on girls are presented as dignity, not denial.

The same mindset limits access to literacy, finance, technology, and education, weakening community cohesion.

Conversations about gender, power, or emotional health are treated as threats, not needs.

At ATC, we don’t respond with campaigns or lectures.
We enter through play.

Sport becomes a low resistance simulator for society, a safe and inclusive space where young people can practice new behaviors. This approach allows us to integrate essential themes that go far beyond the court:

Health | Gender Equality | Education | Creative Industries | Fintech | STEM | Community Cohesion | Interactive Learning Model

Results so far:

4,200+ youth engaged

180+ athletes in elite development tracks

65% of female participants in leadership or academic programs

    The Problem We’re Tackling

Sport has the power to break barriers, but too many young people in Africa are left out. The challenges run deep:

    Infrastructural gaps:

Safe courts and multipurpose spaces are scarce, making regular play inaccessible.

    Structural gaps:

Systems are underfunded, pathways are unclear, and opportunities stop before they truly begin.

    Behavioral barriers:

Cultural norms often keep girls on the sidelines, framing restrictions as tradition rather than inequality.

We cannot expect youth to thrive in systems they had no hand in designing. ATC is building those systems with them.

    Cross-Cutting Approach

Our work doesn’t stand alone. It connects with:

    • STEM education
    • Gender equality
    • Health and wellness
    • Creative industries
    • Fintech literacy
    • Community cohesion

    Our Dream

One million youth - A system where champions aren’t exceptions - they are the product of well-designed pathways.

One that builds infrastructure, not dependence.

One that sparks behavior change through play, not pressure.

One that proves transformation happens when communities lead.

Join us to help build a system that is local, proven and built to last
